They Say that all this started with a big bang 13.8 billion years ago. It took billions of years after that by our adorable gravitation to combine necessary materials which eventually gave birth to a huge body called Earth, yeah that’s right -our home planet .Earth came in to existence approximately 4.5 billion years ago.
We human beings were the late comers and came in to existence approximately 2.8 billion years ago.
What is the average life expectancy of human today? Statistically the average life expectancy of all people in the world is currently 66.26 years .Let’s say we are lucky enough of not being killed in any terrorist attacks or wars and somehow manages to not kill ourselves with any deadly diseases. Then it might be possible that we become another Li ching-yuen, a Chinese man who lived for more than 200 years.
Now let’s compare our individual life span with the magnitude of the beginning of time. If we consider that big bang happened a year ago, say on 1st of Jan than earth formed on 16th September and we human came to existence on 31 Dec, 22:24. Just 1 hour 36 minutes before. Only 60 seconds has passed since human leaned agriculture. American Revolution, French revolution, World War I, World War II, Apollo Moon landing all this happened in the last second.
Our individual existence on earth is for, god knows, how many millionths of the second of the beginning of time. This is on a ‘year scale’ but in real time our individual life span on this planet doesn’t count at all.
Spirituality says we are spiritual beings and are here on this earth to have human experience. 60-70 years of our life span might seem too long for an experience to us but if we look in to the calendar of god, it’s mere a tiny drop in the ocean. As if we set out for work one day and stopped at an ice-cream parlor for few minutes to taste a new flavor. What if we are here to experience human flavor?
If there is any supreme power, the creator of everything, the God, then he has much more bigger and magnificent things in his platter to be taken care of in priority than our tiny little experiences. Everything cannot be taken care of simultaneously hence laws were created by god. There are Laws in this universe which makes everything work. All laws together have set everything in this universe on autopilot. These laws are the creators and also the destroyer s. These laws came in to existence at the beginning of the time and were powerful enough to create this universe and gradually make it suitable for lives to flourish.
If there is any God somewhere, he is not creating or destroying anything he is just watching these laws in play, self-creating and destroying things. Whether it is as big and old as the universe or small and short-lived as human beings everything is just being observed.
Like everything else, there are laws for our human experience too. Human life works on the law of thoughts. Our thoughts influence our action and our action creates our lives. There is no more aid coming down from the almighty. He has already given us the power of creation by giving us the ability to think. Now it is up to us, we can use it to make our human experience good or we can misuse it to make our lives pathetic.
Religions are considered to be a medium to interact with God and every religion has a hint of human being’s creative ability to make things happen as they desire. All these positive change begins with directing our thoughts in the right direction. The rule is simple; more we clutter our minds with negativity, more pathetic our lives will become. On the other hand, if we could learn to control our thoughts and fill it with positive thoughts and feelings world for us will start changing for us for good.
Consider God as a father who is watching his kids play some football game. He can just wait and watch from outside the field. Win or lose is always in the hands of kids.
“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”
“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.”
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flows the springs of life.”
“One who has control over the mind is tranquil in heat and cold, in pleasure and pain, and in honor and dishonor; and is ever steadfast with the Supreme Self.”
“Be master of mind rather than mastered by mind.”
